Diligent Sports Make Sperm More Nimble

Men who expect to have offspring in the near future are advised to start keeping quality sperm, one with diligent exercise.

Sperm disorders, such as the amount is less and the ability to swim is too slow, an important cause of infertility in the male.

Research shows that men who exercise have more diligent sperm swimming champion compared with men who are lazy to move. It happened because the exercise we create hormone levels and a good environment for sperm production.


The experts believe exercise should be part of the lifestyle of a man who was infertile because in the last 50 years a decline in sperm quality. Many factors become causes, ranging from drinking alcohol, smoking, to obesity.

The team of researchers from the University of Cordoba, Spain, to compare hormonal levels and semen quality of men who are physically active with men who rarely exercise.

Factors considered include the number of sperm and the ability of its motion, and the analysis of hormones including testosterone, cortisol, and follicle stimulating hormone. As a result, the man who diligently exercise have better sperm quality.

Despite that excessive exercise can bring the opposite effect. Research in 2010 showed that sperm quality athletes apparently less active than men. Excessive exercise is known to reduce the quality seperma.
