Jakarta, breast milk is the essential nutrients needed by the baby, at least during the initial 6 months of life. But not many babies in Indonesia are getting enough milk exclusively. The reason is, the mothers do not have time to breastfeed because of busy work. Though many health benefits gained by mothers to breastfeed their babies.

According to Dr. Utami, work is not the reason for the mother so as not to breastfeed her baby. There are plenty of studies that describe the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother, among others, the following:
1. Reducing the risk of uterine cancerA Japanese study involving 155 people and mothers with cervical cancer compared with 99 mothers who did not have cervical cancer. The results found that the highest cancer risk was found in women who have given birth but not to breastfeed their babies.
The researchers then concluded that breastfeeding may lower the risk of uterine cancer. The research was published in Jornal of Experimental Medicine in 2006.
2. Reducing the risk of rheumatoid arthritisA study published in the journal Arthritis and Rheumatism 2004 conducted on 121,700 mothers. The results found that breastfeeding for more than 12 months reduces the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. The less time spent breastfeeding unrtuk, stricken with rheumatoid arthritis risk will be higher.
3. Reducing the risk of maternal diabetesA study in 2006 to 150,000 people every year women find that breastfeeding can reduce a mother's risk of diabetes by 15 percent menderta.
