first HIV / AIDS was found diidap by injecting drug users due to the use of
syringes in turn, now the trend is changing. Cases
of HIV / AIDS has now started to increase dramatically among men who like to
'snack'.
Integrated Survey and Biological Behavior (STPD) 2007 show as much as 52.4% of cases of HIV infection occurred among injecting drug users. But in 2011, the figure dropped to 42.4%.
On
the one hand, the prevalence in the group Man Sex Men (MSM) and Male Potential
Risti increased. At
MSM, prevalence in 2007 was 5.3% and increased to 12.4% in 2011 or an increase

Data from the Provincial Health Office of the proportion of AIDS cases also showed a similar trend. Data from the Ministry of Health directorate P2PL itself shows HIV cases in Indonesia continues to increase. In 2005, there were 859 recorded cases of cases. But in 2010, there was a sharp increase up to 21 591 cases. In 2011, there were 20,031 cases. As of September 2012, the case has reached 9893 cases recorded.
"We started working with a network of key populations. Since the year 2010, HIV infection was found to soar as more and more friends from key populations are more daring open," said Menkes.
Key populations in question is a group of people at risk of HIV / AIDS such as commercial sex workers (CSWs), transgenders and injecting drug users. People with HIV are recorded is then given treatment and counseling so as not to transmit HIV to others and manage the condition.
