Daddy Fat, Obesity Vulnerable Children also

Dad and mom will indeed lower the best genes to the baby. Not only the best genes to be inherited, but some health conditions such as obesity also lowered the risk of your child.

Maternal diet and weight can affect the health of their child even before the child is born. In a BioMed Central journal BMC Medicine shows the obesity-related research on fathers who are at risk for lowered to her baby, so that was launched Health24.

Hypomethylation of genes coding for growth factors, insulin-like 2 (IGF2), in newborns correlated with an increased risk for infants born to fathers who are obese, as well as the risk of cancer.

As part of the study of epigenetics Baby (NEST) is done by Duke University Hospital, the information collected about the parent body weight compared with data epigenetic their baby was born. DNA contains the genetic information passed from parents to children and epigenetic imprinting, such as DNA methylation, controls how active a gene is.

The researchers found that the IGF2 hypomethylated father fat lowers risk for obesity to their children someday.

Dr Adelheid Soubry who led this research explained, "during spermatogenesis several DNA regions may be sensitive to environmental damage. Effect can be transmitted to the next generation is possible that the (mal) nutrition or hormone levels in obese father, leading to a complete or genomic DNA methylation unstable imprinting of sperm cells. further studies are needed to confirm our findings. "

Dr Cathrine Hoyo of NEST continued, "In general, epigenetic marks are reprogrammed when the sperm and the egg is being formed, and consequently nutrition, lifestyle or environment parents at this time can have a direct effect on child development and subsequent health."
