Sitting Too Long Lower Sperm Count

Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) investigated the relationship between watching television and sitting for long periods, which is associated with decreased fertility. In this study, they included 189 healthy men with a healthy weight and not smoking. Most of these men claimed to spend four to 20 hours each week watching television.

From this study, they found that men who spend a long time in front of the television have a lower sperm count, compared with men who move heavy. Self decline reached 44 percent.

In addition to the intensity of watching TV, sitting for long periods is also known as the originator of the declining quality and quantity of sperm. This is because the activities of sitting can make someone ignore a healthy diet by eating all kinds of food. Sitting for long periods also allow an increase in temperature in the scrotum that inhibit sperm production.
